Game Servers

Think of the game servers as football pitches. They sit there waiting for the players to arrive, and their sole job is to be an arena for the players.

The diagram below shows what is happening when you play online.

Once you see the game
servers, you'll be just one
step away...

Now you have a number of ways to connect to a game server.

  1. Some games have built in game browsers. These can find servers for you, but due to the vast number it's sometimes a large list, but can be useful.
  2. Gamespy 3d is a highly popular program which allows you to find servers quickly and display information about them. You can also add servers to it, save them and more.

At BarrysWorld we recommend using Gamespy 3d. There is a quick guide to installing Gamespy 3d and adding the "master server" which lists the servers for you on the game pages. Again these are listed here. Click the game you have, then read the "Game Servers" window and follow the instructions.
