I have had articles/letters printed in my local papers (Western Morning News and Evening Herald), and in PCFormat, and .Net Magazine. 

I have been writing columns since early 1998, mostly based on a gaming related theme, but also covering a wide range of issues depending on what was a hot topic at the time. Below are some examples of my work.

Alien Vs. Predator 2 Multiplayer Demo - Column posted: Tuesday, October 23, 2001
This column helped excite the public ready for the release of the full version of "Alien Vs. Predator 2". I used references to the Aliens film to help draw the reader into the look and feel of the game.

Games Make Children Brighter? - Column posted: Friday, July 27, 2001
After Prince Charles' comments claiming the greatest battle today is getting children off computers and into something worthwhile like reading books, and with continued activity within the media about games, I wrote this column to help balance out the views.

Being a bit sick of the stereotype gamers get I asked the question, "how would you explain gaming to a non-gamer" and explored the many scenarios associated with the question.

Shogun Community - Column posted: Monday, January 8, 2001
After playing many hours of the excellent game "Shogun:Total War" I found it strange the community was not as large as for other games. I did this update which aimed to introduce new gamers to Shogun, and this was done with the help of a top Shogun player. The questions asked of him were aimed to wet the appetite of the reader and get them interested in the game.

Counter Strike V1.0 - Column posted: Friday, November 10, 2000
The most popular online game to date finally came out of beta. This update discusses the changes and talks about the communities reaction to the final release of the game.

Tactics & Strategy - Column posted: Tuesday, August 22, 2000
One of my most popular columns. This updated looked at how tactics and strategy used in the real world are quickly being incorporated into the latest games. After researching I compared real life examples to in game experiences, which proved a hit with readers.

The last straw - Column posted: Thursday, July 20, 2000
After a company released new graphics drivers that enabled users to see through walls, amongst other things, the online gaming community (having to already deal with game specific cheats) where in uproar. Being a strong anti-cheater myself I looked into it and produced this column on my findings. The column was linked around the world so that gamers could learn about these drivers.

Is Quake Dead? - Column posted: Wednesday, May 31, 2000
This update was in light of the new wave of team games appearing on the scene. For years gamers have mostly played alone as a single player, yet games are slowing moving towards team play. This update caused a stir amongst the quake gaming community, and sparked a debate as to the future of Quake.

After being employed by BarrysWorld (once they received funding) I did this update to explain what my role at BarrysWorld would be. I also told my life story on how I lead up to becoming paid to do a job that I loved.
