about me | employment | games industry

Hi, I am Scott Grenney and currently live in the South West of England. I have been creating websites for over 15 years, with a strong focus on design and content. My work to date ranges from over 2 years experience as an assistant editor within the games industry writing guides, manuals, articles, reviews and news articles for BarrysWorld, (in its time Europe's largest Games Service Provider) and GAME Digital Ltd (Europe's largest games retailer). My editor role also involved me dealing with customer support, community development, running game leagues, and beta testing/consultation for various companies.

My current employment has seen me become a skilled coach and trainer, with practical experience in management. This includes managing teams of up to 50 employees and 10 months as a Quality Assurance Manager. This role involved me creating and maintaining training materials for over 2,000 staff across the UK. I focused on identifying and managing deployment of activities to support improvement in the quality of service and also supported the deployment and monitoring of a new trial accuracy measurement system. This was designed to evaluate employees accuracy for quality of service and individual bonus payments.

I have used my vast experience from the games industry within my current post. For example I was asked to create a board game to help support the companies drive to tackle diversity in the work place. The game "Diversagon" was designed with the aim of increasing the work force's awareness of the company and diversity. I also designed Diversagon to provided a fun element and raised teams morale by encouraging interaction between team members. Plans have been made to develop Diversagon for use by the companies 200,000+ workforce.

I have also designed a range of crib style help sheets, which outline the keying rules needed for data entry processing at Royal Mail MDEC sites. Initially created for use by the thousands of temp agency staff taken on during Christmas, the crib sheets have now become standard training materials, issued to all new entrants.
